POSITION DETAILS

The Center for Career Engagement and Internships provides career education to students by offering coaching,
internships, jobs, and professional connections for success. Our team comprises educators, connectors, and
collaborators who implement quality and innovative services by engaging students, alumni, faculty, staff,
employers, and the community.
The CUNY Linking Employment, Academics and Disability Services (LEADS) Support Specialist will report to the Director of the Center for Career Engagement and Internships. The specialist will provide career advice,
preparation, workshops, resources, and student support as well as work closely and collaborate with the Office of Special Services for Students with Disabilities. In addition, this individual will cooperate and partner with the Committee for Disabled Students (CDS) of Queens College, one of the oldest disability advocacy organizations in CUNY.
Duties include but are not limited to:
??? Providing students individualized or group advisement on career skills such as career exploration, resume
writing, interview preparation, internship/job search, and disability workshops, including workplace
accommodations and disability disclosure
??? Tracking caseload demographics, contact notes, and outcomes across multiple recordkeeping systems and
compiling reports
??? Coordinating services and programs with on-campus partners, CUNY LEADS Council, external agencies and
employers
??? Promoting Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) recruitment programs
??? Marketing services and programs to students and updating the website
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor???s degree and four years??? related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
??? Master's degree in Counseling, Disabilities, Education, Mental Health, Psychology, Higher Education or related degree
??? Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; demonstrated proficiency in computer and database skills.
??? Experience working in academic, career advisement or job placement for students with disabilities
??? Experience serving individuals from cross-disability backgrounds and knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act and other key disability legislation
??? Experience working with ACCES-VR, NYSCB, OPWDD and other governmental and non-profit agencies

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The annual salary is $79,188 - $86,645, commensurate with education and experience.
