We are seeking a skilled and motivated Professional Liability Attorney with at least 2 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in managing liability cases, with a particular focus on healthcare liability and/or coverage experience.
Position Overview:
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to grow their career in a dynamic and supportive environment. The role will require the successful candidate to handle a wide range of professional liability matters, providing defense to professionals and businesses in various industries, with a focus on healthcare liability cases.
Key Responsibilities:
* Represent clients in professional liability matters, focusing on healthcare and insurance coverage claims.
* Manage case files from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
* Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex legal issues.
* Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
* Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as necessary.
* Maintain case organization and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Required Qualifications:
* Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in professional liability, with strong exposure to healthcare liability and/or coverage matters.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Highly motivated, well-organized, and able to manage competing priorities.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Additional Information:
* Billable hour requirement is 1800 hours annually.
* Attorneys who exceed 2200 billable hours will be eligible for a $30,000 bonus.
* First-year position is on-site in our New York office; hybrid work arrangement available thereafter.
