We are seeking an innovative Principal Technical Administrator to design, build, and manage the strategic direction of our cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence Lab. In this position, you'll oversee the technical architecture and management of advanced AI systems while working closely with faculty, students, and industry partners. By driving the lab's vision and maintaining a robust AI-ready environment, you'll be instrumental in helping students gain the skills and expertise they need to thrive in today's technology-driven world.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Design and implement the lab's technical architecture, encompassing hardware, software, and networking.
Collaboration: Partner with faculty, students, and industry stakeholders to identify and meet evolving technical needs.
Strategic Vision: Develop a long-term roadmap to align the lab's capabilities with institutional goals in AI research and education.
Innovation: Identify and integrate emerging technologies to enhance the lab's offerings and maintain cutting-edge relevance.
Reliability & Security: Ensure secure, reliable, and scalable AI systems and infrastructure.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor technical staff, fostering professional growth and addressing complex technical challenges.
Resource Management: Manage budgets, procurement, and resource allocation to optimize the lab's operations.
What We're Looking For
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure design and management, particularly in AI, high-performance computing, or cloud environments.
Proficiency in Linux operating systems (especially Debian-based distros) and Kubernetes.
Strong knowledge of AI frameworks, GPU computing, and data center operations.
Proven track record in leading complex technical projects from start to finish.
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Compensation
