**About the Position:**

As a Clearance Specialist/Intake Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to verify insurance benefits for specialty medications and services. You'll also play a crucial role in submitting and tracking authorization requests while keeping our patients and referral sources updated on pending referrals.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Verify and document patient insurance benefits for medications, administration supplies, and related infusion services.
- Accurately document details regarding coinsurance, co-pays, deductibles, and authorization requirements.
- Calculate estimated patient financial responsibilities based on benefit verifications and payer contracts.
- Initiate and follow up on prior authorization requests, including reviewing and obtaining clinical documents for submissions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, referral sources, and internal departments regarding referral statuses and updates.
- Assist patients in accessing financial assistance programs when needed.
- Generate new patient start-of-care paperwork.

**Schedule:**

- Monday to Friday, with two shifts available: 9 AM - 5:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5 PM (Central Time)
- Overtime may be required as needed.

**Qualifications:**

- Home infusion experience is essential.
- Proven experience with referrals, benefit verifications, and authorizations is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in home infusion pharmacy and/or medical intake/reimbursement is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care reimbursement guidelines is a plus.
- Strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to support various referrals while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; CPR+ knowledge is preferred.
