Job Description

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (Job Summary):

The E-commerce Marketing Manager (EMM) will oversee and optimize our online store operations, digital marketing campaigns, and sales growth across multiple e-commerce platforms, including Shopify and Magento. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in E-commerce management, digital marketing, and data-driven performance optimization. This role also includes monitoring and responding to customer inquiries via chat, ensuring customer satisfaction on a timely basis, including weekends and holidays.

 

Key Responsibilities:

E-commerce Platform Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple e-commerce websites (Shopify, Magento, etc.), ensuring smooth user experience and functionality. 
  • Collaborate with the design and development teams to maintain and enhance website features, ensuring the site is optimized for speed, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and customer experience.
  • Regularly update product listings, promotions, and website content. 
  • Implement and monitor website improvements, including checkout flow and site performance optimization.

Digital Marketing & Advertising:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize digital marketing campaigns across Google Ads, Meta Ads, and other paid channels. 
  • Conduct keyword research, audience targeting, and A/B testing to maximize return on investment (ROI) on ads.
  • Manage budgets for paid search, display, shopping campaigns, and social media ads. 
  • Monitor performance metrics such as cost per click (CPC), cost per add (CPA), return on ad spend (ROAS), etc., and make adjustments to improve performance.
  • Create and execute email marketing campaigns and newsletters that drive conversions and customer engagement.

Analytics & Reporting:

  • Use Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, and other relevant tools to track E-commerce key performance indicators (KPIs), (traffic, conversion rates, average order value, etc.).
  • Create weekly/monthly performance reports and share insights with the management team. 
  • Analyze customer data and sales trends to identify opportunities for growth and optimization 

SEO & Content Optimization:

  • Collaborate with content and SEO teams to improve organic search rankings, product page SEO, and overall content strategy. 
  • Regularly updating product pages, ensuring accurate descriptions, keywords, and high-quality images are included to drive organic traffic. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with sales, inventory, and customer service teams to align marketing efforts with business objectives. 
  • Coordinate promotional campaigns, seasonal sales, and product launches across e-commerce channels.

Customer Experience & Retention:
Monitor and improve the customer journey, from the initial visit to checkout and post-purchase follow-up. 

  • Develop customer retention strategies, such as loyalty programs and targeted remarketing campaigns.

Customer Chat Support:

  • Monitor and respond to customer inquiries via live chat, addressing product questions, issues, and concerns promptly. 
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve any problems with empathy and professionalism.
  • Be available to manage customer chat communications during weekends and holidays, ensuring continuous support for our customers.  


SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in e-commerce management, digital marketing, or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify, Magento, or other E-commerce platforms. 
  • Proven track record of managing Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and other digital marketing campaigns.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of SEO, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Pay-per-click (PPC), and social media advertising strategies. 
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, and other E-commerce marketing tools.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Mailchimp). 
  • Strong data analysis skills and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. 
  • Strong written communication skills and a customer-first approach to resolving inquiries.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field (preferred).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a temperature-controlled office environment. Casual dress attire. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, camera/video props, and equipment.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Visual acuity, speech, hearing, and hand and eye coordination are required. Manual dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to long periods of sitting with repetitive use of hands, fingers, and wrists. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs., bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, twist, and reach.
