Oregon Urology Institute has an opening for a Per Diem CT Tech.
Oregon Urology Institute is one of the largest, most advanced urological centers in the Northwest. Oregon Urology Institute provides patients with some of the region's finest medical experts covering every major urological specialty using proven and leading-edge technologies such as robotic surgery, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy.
We are looking for a CT Technologist with excellent people skills to serve the patients of OUI by performing diagnostic imaging exams including CT scans and X-rays, as directed by OUI providers.
Duties:
Position patients and operate imaging equipment for diagnostic CT scans and X-rays following established protocols. Utilize IV contrast power injection equipment to obtain a variety of CT imaging including arterial, venous, and delayed phase scans.
Operate C-arm surgical X-ray equipment in an OR setting, as directed by an OUI provider (OR experience preferred or ability to be trained in the OR setting).
Provide patient education and instruction regarding imaging procedures prior to and after exams.
Follow prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment including following ALARA principles to ensure proper radiation safety for patients, employees, and visitors.
Review prior imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history, and ordering provider notes to ensure the appropriate imaging exam is being completed.
Review radiologic images for optimal quality including proper radiation exposure and accurate anatomical positioning.
Process routine paperwork, document patient history, and complete imaging exams in the patient's electronic medical record and PACS.
Ensure imaging equipment and auxiliary equipment is in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
Maintain a properly stocked imaging exam room to meet the needs of requested imaging studies.
Participate in professional development activities and maintain appropriate professional licensure and certifications (see below).
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations regarding patient information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Proficient knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform accurate diagnostic studies in CT and X-ray settings, including contrast-enhanced studies. Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with patients of various ages and abilities in order to complete imaging exams in an efficient manner. Familiarity with PACS/RIS systems (experience with IntelliSpace PACS and Medinformatix RIS is a plus). Prior experience with Siemens CT Platform preferred (OUI utilizes a Siemens SOMATOM go.All scanner). Knowledge of proper body mechanics regarding lifting, positioning of patients, and operation of imaging equipment. Ability to maintain effective working relationships and clear communication with other technologists, staff, management, and providers.
Education: Graduation from an ARRT accredited school of Radiologic Technology program, including additional education in Computed Tomography.
Experience: One year of experience in Radiologic Technology and Computed Tomography is preferred. Proficiency in venipuncture preferred, or ability to learn. Lithotripsy experience preferred but not required.
Certification /License: Current certification by ARRT in both Radiologic Technology and Computed Tomography. Current licensure through OBMI in both Radiologic Technology and Computed Tomography. Current healthcare provider level Basic Life Support certification.
Physical Demands: Requires manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operation of department imaging equipment and computers. Requires ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires ability to properly position patients for imaging exams, including utilization of lifting devices such as a Hoyer lift and sling.
Working Conditions: Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

This is a Per Diem position that offers flexibility and no weekends or holidays. We offer excellent wages with a range of $35.47PH to $53.26PH (DOE) with a fun and compelling culture.
