Our organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our Accounting and Finance team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to apply their skills in a challenging and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and financial operations for our commercial properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. This role will require extensive experience with Yardi, commercial properties, Ledger, and GL.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all general ledger activities for our commercial properties.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and present financial reports and metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
• Implement and maintain comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and manage financial systems and policies.
• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.
• Monitor the financial performance of the company and report on financial performance.
• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.
• Use Yardi software to manage and track all financial data.
• Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably within the commercial real estate industry.
• Proven experience with financial and accounting software systems, specifically Yardi.
• Strong knowledge of commercial properties, Ledger, and GL.
• Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
• Knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP).
• Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
