Our Books & Benchmarks service is designed to support the financial needs of our members, many of whom are small, independently owned optometry practices. Our team of skilled bookkeepers is dedicated to simplifying financial management and ensuring accurate, timely reporting. Our goal is to make financial operations easier for practice owners, handling everything from bookkeeping and payroll to providing insightful financial benchmarks.
We focus on:
- Delivering accurate and timely financial statements
- Ensuring payroll taxes and forms are submitted on time
- Providing a customized chart of accounts and P&L layout specific to optometry practices

Role Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will manage the financial operations for a portfolio of optometry practices. Responsibilities will include coding transactions, reconciling statements, closing monthly books, handling payroll, and supporting accounts payable and bill payment as we continue to grow our services. You'll be a key part of our mission to simplify financial management for our members.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the bookkeeping and financial reporting for independent optometry practices.
- Assist in coding transactions and collaborating with practice owners on decisions regarding equipment purchases (expense vs. capitalize).
- Reconcile accounts and close books on a monthly basis.
- Oversee payroll processes, including payroll processing, tax payments, and filing payroll reports.
- Manage financial services for up to 60 client practices per month.
- Provide feedback to help improve and refine our service offering.

Requirements:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is a must.
- Experience with QuickBooks Payroll, Gusto Payroll, ADP, or Paychex is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, vLookup, and other key functions, as well as familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong time management, decision-making, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work remotely.
