Job Description

Sconehenge Bakery & Cafe is a Berkeley community staple! We have been serving the community breakfast American and Mexican style dishes for over 20 years. We have many loyal customers who know our staff by name and have been coming for generations.

We are looking for a part-time line cook with experience in a breakfast restaurant to work on the weekends during our peak times and help close the kitchen. We are a friendly, family-oriented, and collaborative group.

This position will start at 12 hours per week with potential additional shifts on Monday during holiday weekends. The normal shift schedule will be broken down as follows:

Saturday: 8:00 AM TO 2:30 PM

Sunday: 8:00 AM TO 2:30 PM

Duties:

• Know and complies consistently with our standard portion size, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.
• Follows proper food safety guidelines and complies with corporate policies.
• Prepare food in a timely manner and follow plating guidelines.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen facilities.
• It is the Cook's responsibility to assist in the daily cleaning of the pantry, cooking line, prep kitchen, dish area, stairs, walk-in, and downstairs prep area.

Requirements:

• 1+ year experience cooking in a restaurant/cafe, preferred if breakfast
• Over 18
• Eligible to work in United States
• Stand for long periods of time and lift over 50 lbs
• Multitask
• Self-directed
• Commute to location

Preferred:

• Food Handlers Certification (company will reimburse cost and time spent if not previously had)
