Job Description

Summit Technologies, Inc. is in search of an experienced Web S oftware Engineer to support our Department of Defense client . As a Web Software Engineer you will support platform operations by performing web and environment development. You must be a US citizen, as this is part of a government contract that requires a DoD Secret security clearance. You may be required to work at the onsite headquarters at Fort Meade, MD.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, stand up, modify, and sustain web pages using web languages (such as PHP, HTML, XML, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)), JavaScript and tools (such as WordPress, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, and SharePoint).
• Work directly with customers and coordinate development of new content areas with a clear understanding of the prospective customer’s request.
• Provide oversight to the designs of new SMA sites.
• Gather web statistics and web analytics to determine the best positioning of data on the site, archiving of DCE pages and content.
• Develop and design quality solutions to convey information utilizing the web as the central forum.
• Maintain all visual aspects and the structural presentation of content, including templates, standards, colors, images, fonts, and overall look and feel.
• Prepare reports, DCE statistical data, web statistical reports, and other requests included in monthly status reports.
• Serve as Application Systems Administrator for the content management system.
• Research, explore, and participate in pilot testing of new capabilities.
• Provide information to Cloud service providers that aid in the implementation of STIG requirements on the web servers and apply patches when necessary.
• Verify web pages load and work properly and can be accessed with changing technical standards.
• Ensure DoD information is hosted on the appropriate servers according to the classification level.
• Perform Help Desk support for web access issues, broken links, recommended links, and content-related inquiries and issues.
• Design, develop, and maintain efficient and functional websites that comply with established standards such as world wide web consortium standards (W3C) and Americans with Disabilities Act Section 508 requirements,
• Ensure all websites are compliant with Federal, DoD, and DISA web policies.

Qualifications:

• Must have expert proficiency with WordPress including plugins and themes associated with WordPress.
• Strong proficiency with: PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to make changes on WordPress sites.
• Experience using SharePoint’s Power platform.

Education:

• A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science.
  

Certifications:

• An 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ ce, CNS, SSCP).
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) 
• AWS Certified Developer Associate certification (highly preferred)

Security Clearance:

• DoD Secret security clearance.
