User Interface Designer Location Remote in United States :

Responsibilities Peraton is seeking an experienced User Interface Designer will be responsible for the design and implementation of the user interface of a computer system. What you'll do: Provide specialized expertise in the design and layout of graphical user interfaces, particularly screen layouts (including color schemes) and functionality for web based applications. - Conduct studies, evaluation and testing of screen prototypes for functionality, ease of use, efficiency, and accuracy of manual, automatic and cross-system processes.
- Ability to take existing legacy system presentations and efficiently convert them into a more leading edge and logical design while retaining or enhancing core functions.
- Collaborate with technical developers & business stakeholders.
- Provide insight and expertise into the implementation and evaluation of Section 508 compliance during all phases of the XLC including requirement specifications along with system, integration and user acceptance testing.
- Display a broad understanding of all the components of large consumer facing web applications. Participates in all phases of development from definition and design through implementation, unit test and deployment.
- User Interface design and development. Develops and executes meticulous automated unit tests to ensure quality releasable software.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Assist in defining structured practices especially in source code management, build and release management.
- Must be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces.
- Collaborates with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.
- Executes all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering. Conceptualizes original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
- Creates wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Presents and defends designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders. Conducts user research and evaluates user feedback.
- Establishes and promotes design guidelines, best practices, and standards. Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, OmniGraffle, or other visual design and wire-framing tools. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping. Experienced working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications: - 5 years experience with Bachelors degree or 3 years experience with Masters or 0 years with PhD
- 5 years experience with ability to apply principles of User Interface design and graphic design
- Experience and knowledge with the design and features of modern consumer websites, and the ability to write and edit Plain Language.
