Join Chef Amy Brandwein in a dual-concept osteria alongside a chef-driven Italian market located in the upscale CenterCityDC development. If you have experience as a cook, at a grocery store or retail shop, we want to talk to you! This is a great position for an individual who enjoys being in food and hospitality, thrives on customer engagement and thinking creatively to offer a upscale culinary experience to our guests.
Core Job Requirements:
Customer service experience required within a food service or grocery retail setting.Provide quality customer service, greeting customers and answering questions in a friendly manner, proactively offering assistance and providing accurate and timely information, making product/ service recommendations and accommodating special requests.
Properly handle, prepare, transport and store products; ensuring food and human safety practices are strictly adhered to.
Responsible for moving and lifting an average of 5 -- 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds.
Must have flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends. Typical shift is 10 am - 9 pm.

OSTERIAThe menu features seasonal and frequently rotating dishes that showcase regional food from all over Italy and relies heavily on what is offered in the chef-driven market, whether that's pinched beef ravioli, spaghetti alla chitarra with chanterelle mushrooms, grilled branzino or wood-roasted meat and vegetables. The beverage program features a wine list that combines imported Italian favorites with the best of Virginia, a beer selection that skews heavily local and a short list of classic Italian cocktails given a contemporary twist.

At Centrolina's retail wing, Chef Amy Brandwein dons the grocer's apron, giving her guests a shopping experience that reflects her personal experiences with Italian cooking and the products and produce she loves and uses.
Imported and specialty items share counter space with fantastic local produce, meat, cheese and seafood. Grocery items include dried pasta from all over Italy as well as fresh pasta made from the Centrolina kitchen, accompanied by nearly a dozen house-made sauces.
The dairy and produce sections are stocked with goods from farmers and artisans from Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Italian specialty items include anchovies, olives, vinegar, olive oil, salumi, imported and local cheeses and sweets. Wine and craft beer is also available for sale.
