Job Description

We seek an experienced Medical Coder/CPT II with quality management for a medical practice office in Ashland. ICD-10/CPT II certification and experience are preferred, but willing to train someone with schooling only for recent graduates. Some medical billing backup is required.

THIS POSITION IS IN-HOUSE ONLY AND IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR REMOTE WORK.

The position is part-time, 20 hours a week, with a flexible schedule.

$25 per hour to start.

Coding requires translating patient medical records into standardized codes.

• Making sure that codes are assigned correctly and sequenced appropriately as per government and insurance regulations
• Complying with medical coding guidelines and policies
• Receiving and reviewing patients’ charts and documents for verification and accuracy
• Collecting information made by the Physician from different sources to prepare monthly reports 
• Other duties as assigned

Medical coding quality management involves strategies to ensure that medical coding is accurate, reliable, and compliant with regulations: 

• Documentation integrity: Clear documentation helps coding professionals accurately assign numerical codes to diagnoses and procedures. 
• Regular coding audits: Audits help reduce claim denials, ensure compliance, and improve the accuracy of clinical documentation. 
• Education and training: Medical coders must keep up with the latest techniques, treatments, and diseases to code correctly. 
• Coding standards and protocols: Establish coding standards and protocols to prevent common errors. 
• Technological advancements: Invest in coding software and technology to help coders with their tasks. Automated coding tools can detect errors and improve accuracy. 
• Workflow efficiency: Improve coding accuracy and efficiency, eliminate unnecessary paperwork, and identify clinical documentation gaps. 
• Evaluate coder performance: Use audit results to educate medical coders and prevent future errors. 

Must be able to multitask, detail-oriented, dependable, great with computers, professional, and a team player.

Must pass criminal background checks, drug screens, and current reference checks. You must be at least 18 to apply.
