Job Description

SMOQUE BBQ is currently looking for Full Time or Part Time LINE COOKS to join our team. This is a general kitchen position that is responsible for assembly and plating of customer orders. Significant prior kitchen or cooking experience is not required, but is a plus. We are willing to train someone with a good work ethic and customer service skills.

Summary of Position
This role is more of a quality control and assembly position than a traditional cook role. Given we serve BBQ, very little cooking is actually happening on the line. The kitchen works like an assembly line with five different stations having specific responsibilities along the way. Food qualtiy, order accuracy and communication between each station is criticial to keep the orders moving throghout the busy shifts. 

 
Requirements  
  1. Must be available to be scheduled for shifts between the hours of 11am-10pm Tuesday through Sunday.
  2. Must be on time and dependable. 
  3. Weekend availability is mandatory. No exceptions. This is when we are the busiest.
  4. Responsible for food assembly functions including;
    1. Plating or bagging customer orders by reading tickets
    2. Ensuring food quality is up to Smoque BBQ standards
    3. Timely and accurate assembly of customer orders
    4. Sanitation practices and cleanliness of kitchen
    5. Other misc. tasks as assigned by the Shift Lead or Restaurant Manager
Qualifications
  1. Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
    1. Fluency in English is required for the Line positions.
  2. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  3. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
    1. Shifts can last anywhere from 4-10 hours, but breaks are provided according to company policies and state laws.
  4. Work well in a team environment and be willing to communicate regulary with other line staff to accomplish a common goal.
  5. Food Handler's Certification is a plus and will be required once hired.
