Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated IT Project Field Engineer with a focus on core networking and deployment. Candidates must have in depth experience in implementing, administering, and supporting distributed systems for our growing company. Most of the time will be spent onsite at client locations to assist with the physical deployment of infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of solid hands-on experience with hosts and networking with an emphasis on the physical deployment of systems.
Primary Responsibilities - Communicate effectively with all necessary team members to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Resolve issues on site as needed or scheduled by the dispatcher.
- Work closely with your teammates and customers to relay critical information to and from your technicians and customers.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures for your position, function, and TechMD.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the project coordinator.
- Follow development plan as outlined by leadership.
- Appropriately document/update all information for changes in an infrastructure as you identify new changes.
- Assist Project Engineers as needed to execute assigned portions of project.
- Interface with other elements of the support structure including tracking end-user issues, updating client tickets, and ensuring closure for escalated issues.
- May travel to customer locations periodically to troubleshoot and resolve high-level technical issues
Skills and Experience - Must have 5-7 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Recommended at least 2 Moderate Level certification. (ex. MCSE, CCNA, Azure)
- Any hands-on experience with VMware ESX, VDI, Hyper-v, or Citrix is a plus
- Demonstrated knowledge of business systems and how they integrate at high level.
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Strong telephone and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Must thrive in a team environment and demonstrate effective team interaction.
- Must demonstrate the ability to effectively work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and maintain composure in a high impact situation.
- Must have strong organizational, priority and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Must own reliable means of transportation.
Hourly rate averages around $38 an hour. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
