THE POSITION





Washington County Behavioral Health Division within Department of Health and Human Services is actively recruiting a Behavioral Health Quality Improvement Coordinator.


The Behavioral Health Division has broad responsibilities as the local Community Mental Health Program (CMHP) and as a delegate of our local Coordinated Care Organizations (CCO).



About the Opportunity
As a valued Behavioral Health Quality Improvement team member, in this role, you will work in partnership with the Quality Assurance Team and Supervisor in our ongoing efforts to provide beneficial services and support to members of our communities. You will perform a key role in the quality and compliance program in the Behavioral Health Division. Responsibilities may include auditing and monitoring to improve the services provided by the staff of the Behavioral Health Division. Being a self-aware and empathetic individual, you will partner with external partners in the behavioral health system of care. In addition, you will assist in preparing for evaluations of the behavioral health program conducted by oversight entities and implementing the Washington County Behavioral Health Program Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) plan.


Primary Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in development and/or revision of policies and procedures.
  • Audit internal processes and external partners.
  • Use data and our findings to improve our services and supports provided.
  • Prepare evaluations of the behavioral health program conducted by oversight entities.
  • Provide and participate in annual quality trainings and education for the department.
  • Serve as a liaison with the State of Oregon, oversight entities, and community stakeholders as needed.
  • Respond to complaints and grievances from our members in mental health residential setting.
  • Possible opportunities to work on Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), including addressing health inequities in Behavioral Health.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.



Who we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will have a background and understanding of quality or compliance and the ability to understand and interpret the Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) and Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS). Preferably, they will have minimum of one (1) year of experience in mental health with increasing responsibility for quality assurance activities. Essential qualities also include being an exceptional collaborator and able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal staff and external stakeholders. They will also be familiar with the impacts of inequity in health care and have dedicated ethical values that support the department's mission.


It is highly preferred to have credentials in:
  • Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Qualified Mental Health Professional, Qualified Mental Health Associate
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience :
Possession of one of the following criteria:

  • Master’s degree in a social service, clinical psychology, counseling, healthcare or related field AND three (3) years of experience in the behavioral health, social services, or healthcare field.

    OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in social services, clinical psychology, counseling, healthcare, or related field AND five (5) years of experience in the behavioral health, social services, or healthcare field.

Selection Process
