This position requires minimal supervision and many times working alone. Coordinate, supervise, and oversee all aspects of grounds management that are included in scope of work. Oversees and implements budget and procurement process within established guidelines. Provide professional consultation or undertake lead role in athletic field/ grounds renovation projects.
Essential Functions - Develop and implement schedules for the management of athletic fields, ornamental landscapes, lawn maintenance, and grounds maintenance that are associated with stadium
- Maintain financial records of all funds and labor expenses for department
- Procurement of all materials required to administer a proven management program using approved vendors and within approved protocol
- Assist in development and implementation plans for emergency response due to inclement weather
- Implement Standard Operating Procedures, follow all protocol and implement Quality Assurance plan
- Prepare and maintain field quality for on-field activities scheduled throughout the year
- Implement training protocol for regulatory compliance, safety and technical needs
- Implement the use of an environmentally sound pest management program that includes Integrated Pest Management; maintain impeccable records of all actions taken to manage identified pests/ abatement or applications
- Ensure performance of all work in a safe manner for the employee, subordinates, students and others that use the facilities
- Achieve both company and client's program integrity at high quality standards
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Good written (report writing) and oral communication (public speaking) skills.
- Efficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or other compatible programs
- Have the ability to operate athletic field / grounds management related equipment
- Ability to work flexible and/or unscheduled hours
- Experience managing staff is required
- High Customer Service and quality attitude
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- Ability to maintain organization in a fast paced, changing environment
- Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
Education and Experience Minimum of three (3) years experience in managing high profile athletic fields. Minimum of a two-year degree in Agronomy/Horticulture related field.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours will vary to include evening and weekend work according to business needs.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The key physical requirements of this position includes the ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time, and lift up to 30 pounds.
