Gpac is currently working with a family owned food manufacturer near Dayton, OH who is seeking a Food Safety Manager!
This is a small size company that operates on one shift, Mon-Fri! They have been in business for over 60 years and looking for someone who values a growing organization. Because of their size, this role will have no direct reports, and will report directly to the President! They are looking for someone who can handle all their daily FSQA tasks, including managing their BRC audit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Direct manufacturing activities and manage supplier and co-packer compliance with FDA regulations, SSOP's and HACCP standards
* Maintain BRC certification
* Serve as Food Safety Team Leader, HACCP Coordinator, and PCQI
* Conduct Quality Control testing and monthly audits
* Manage internal, third-party, and customer audits
* Resolve customer complaints and implement corrective actions
* Oversee Allergen Control, Food Defense, and Food Fraud Programs
* Maintain the Quality Management System
* Conduct environmental testing and provide employee food safety training
* Monitor sanitation effectiveness and manage Foreign Material Control
* Administer Supplier Approval and document control programs
* Perform risk analysis for raw materials and HACCP processes
* Stay informed on industry regulations and food safety best practices
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Prefer Bachelor Degree in Food Science and/or related field
* Experience with HACCP, FSMA PCQI, and GFSI (certifications a plus)
* Experience with BRC/audits
* Knowledge of quality control processes related to the food-processing industry
* Familiar with equipment and food-processing equipment
* Knowledge of USDA and FDA standards
* Computer skills, analytical, good problem solving and communication
* Able to follow directions and multi-task efficiently
Targeting 65k-75k base salary
