Job Description

Maxim Consulting Group is seeking an experienced, Director Level Consultant to join its growing professional services team. Maxim Consultants deliver world-class strategic planning, project execution, process re-engineering and labor productivity solutions to construction firms in both the general contracting and subcontracting verticals. Successful Maxim Consultants are positive, team-oriented, and acutely attuned to the needs of our construction industry customers.

This is an independent, 1099 opportunity with generous revenue sharing compensation model. Position is remote requiring up to 50%- 60% travel.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assess construction clients' business performance through project and financial analysis, in-depth interviews, application of proven analytical models and best-in-class contractor benchmarking.
  • Recommend and implement performance improvement solutions including project execution, labor productivity, organizational effectiveness, financial and risk management.
  • Lead productivity workshops and to create enthusiasm and commitment to crucial change management and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Present current construction industry subject matter curriculum and educational content to both small and large audiences.
  • Manage client engagements and build enduring relationships.
  • Facilitate Maxim Peer Groups and related consulting services.
  • Accelerate industry exposure through trade associations and attending other industry events.
  • Coordinate with appropriate Maxim professional resources for project assignments.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business/Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
  • Master's degree in Business (preferred), Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of construction industry or professional services experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, with the proven ability to gain and retain the attention of construction industry professionals and subject matter experts.
  • Proven experience with construction project delivery processes and methodologies and how to successfully execute large construction projects.
  • Thorough understanding of construction industry accounting, project management and ERP software.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Strong personal organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple prospects, proposals, and projects.
  • Proven analytical, financial and quantitative problem-solving skills and experience.
  • Ability to work independently in order to meet established deadlines.
