Description of Position: Crisis Response and Current Operations Specialist in the Operations and Integration Branch of the Current Operations Division for USSPACECOM.
Position Duties/Responsibilities - Responsible for Crisis Response and Current Operation planning and execution of day-to-day space operations, contingencies, and crisis.
- Leads conferences, boards, bureaus, meetings, panels, working groups, and other activities with organizations in and outside USSPACECOM on matters related to space operations
- Coordinates with other combatant commands, services, and other government agencies to generate recommended solutions for operational prioritization and integration.
- Maintains expert knowledge in crisis response, current and future space systems, programs, and activities.
Key Skills & Abilities - Knowledge of a wide range of space operations with expertise in either Space Electronic Warfare or Orbital Warfare preferred.
- Knowledge of Joint Planning processes and Military Crisis Response processes with the ability to generate best military advice for the Commander and USSPACECOM Staff.
- Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with leadership, coworkers and customers, while contributing to a cooperative work environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
- Knowledge of military (including command level) program goals and objectives; operations development and execution; methods of evaluating the effectiveness mission effectiveness; and the relationship of the various command entities involved in overall program planning and execution of military operations and evaluations.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and ability to distill information into briefings and products for senior personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, prioritize, and lead in a challenging dynamic environment.
- Exhibits initiative, problem solving, executive-level briefing, and critical thinking skills.
Qualification Requirements Experience at the next lower broadband/grade level (or equivalent) in performing current operations planning and execution duties.
Conditions Of Employment - Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
- Position requires drug testing
- Occasional travel away from the regular duty location may be required.
- May be required to work irregular duty hours including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
