Job Description

The Hatcher Group is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Copywriter to join our team. In this role, you’ll help develop and execute strategic marketing and communications initiatives for clients dedicated to causes like economic justice, healthcare access, environmental protection, and education equity. Our flexible-first work culture empowers you to deliver your best work wherever you are. While remote work is regular part of our operations, candidates within commuting distance of our Bethesda, MD office are strongly preferred to support weekly in-person collaboration and team building. 

What You’ll Do 

  • In this role, you’ll play a key role in creating engaging and impactful content that resonates with target audiences and captures client brands and messaging. Your responsibilities will include: 
  • Developing engaging and compelling content for integrated marketing strategies across web, print, social media, multimedia, and email marketing campaigns. 
  • Conducting research to understand target audiences, innovative strategies, and competitive landscapes. 
  • Collaborating with project managers and teams to manage project timelines and client revisions.  
  • Utilizing content management systems to partner with the digital team in executing content calendars on social media platforms. 
  • Contributing to internal content development, including client case studies, website copy, marketing products, and more. 

What You’ll Bring 

We’re seeking a passionate and collaborative professional eager to make a difference. The ideal candidate will have: 

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an agency environment. 
  • Outstanding writing and copyediting skills. 
  • Experience with various marketing and communications products, including strategic plans, annual reports, press releases, blog posts, social media posts, and scripts. 
  • Knowledge of AP Style conventions. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. 

We are pleased to offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000 per year based on experience and aligned with our internal standards.
