Communications and Marketing Director -( CAL000HL )

Description

The Communications and Marketing Director reports directly to the CEO of UAB Callahan Eye with a dotted line of responsibility to the UAB Medicine Marketing Department. Duties and responsibilities include planning, organizing and the execution of all marketing and advertising campaigns for Callahan and the Ophthalmology Services Foundation (OSF). Responsible for all internal and external communications. Oversee brand management, social media efforts, sponsorships and events as well as client relations. Ensure consistency of messaging across platforms. Develop and manage project and information management, workflow processes and monitor stakeholder satisfaction. Liaison with appropriate offices across UAB and UAB Medicine to ensure adherence to UAB's marketing protocols.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supports communication and marketing efforts across the organization

  2. Manages content and messaging for website and digital communications, including targeted email marketing, video production, and social media.

  3. Serves as the brand manager and develops key messages for all Callahan and OSF. Responsible for creating a comprehensive marketing plan that aligns with the institution's goals, target audience, and budget. Identify and define the institution's target audience and key competition. Ensure a strong and consistent brand image that resonates with the target audience and conveys the institution's unique value proposition. Leverage digital marketing channels, including social media marketing, pay-per-click advertising, and SEO, and traditional marketing channels to reach prospective clients effectively.
  4. Continuously analyze marketing data, track key performance indicators, and adjust marketing strategies based on results to optimize department goals.
  5. Ensure efficient allocation of marketing resources and maintain a cost-effective approach while meeting department goals.

  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of progressive management experience in Marketing, Communications, Higher Education Administration, or a related field required. Work experience may not substitute for education requirement.
