Job Description:
The Ripped Bodice is seeking a part-time sales associate to assist with day-to-day sales operations as well as to provide administrative support to The Ripped Bodice team. This job requires excellent people skills, customer service, and the ability to be an organized multitasker. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, who can learn new tasks easily, and who we can trust with our customers.
We strongly prioritize candidates with bookstore and/or retail experience.
Main criteria:
Our top requirement is a deep knowledge and love of romance novels. This goes much further than having read one series five years ago. You will be expected to help customers pick out books every single day. We can teach you everything you need to know about the retail-side of this job, but we need you to feel confident about your romance knowledge.
Must be 18 years old
Key Responsibilities include:
Assisting customers with book selection and recommendations and check out
Answering phone calls and emails
Working during book events reporting to the events manager
Receiving and inventorying books
Alphabetizing and organizing used books
Entering sales data and consignment inventory
Cleaning (Yes, even the bathroom. This is part of small business life, we get our hands dirty.)
Hours:
10-25 hours a week.
You MUST be available to work on both Friday and Saturday.
Schedule flexibility appreciated.
Current Store Hours:
Weekdays 11am-7pm
Weekends 10am-8pm
Compensation: Ripped Bodice bookseller pay rates are based on cumulative hours worked and raises are automatically given when a bookseller hits an hours milestone.
Starting Rate - $20
$22 - 400 Hours
$24 - 2400 Hours
