### IDOC Books & Benchmarks
Our Books & Benchmarks service provides tailored bookkeeping support to our members, delivered by a dedicated team of talented bookkeepers. Many of our clients are small, independently owned businesses that turn to us for assistance in managing their financials. We understand that tracking financials consistently and accurately can be a challenge, so we strive to simplify practice operations and financial management by:
- Managing bookkeeping and payroll, providing owners with timely and accurate financial statements, and ensuring payroll taxes and forms are submitted on time.
- Offering an eyecare-specific chart of accounts and P&L layout to help owners better understand their financial statements.
- Pooling financial data from our members and reporting back population-level benchmarks, allowing practices to evaluate their performance.
### Role Summary
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a vital role in managing the financial books for a portfolio of optometry clients. This includes coding transactions, reconciling statements, and overseeing the monthly closing process. Additionally, you will manage payroll for participant practices, and as we expand our service offerings, you will also assist with accounts payable and bill payments.
### Responsibilities
- Oversee the bookkeeping and financial reporting process for independent practice owners.
- Assist in coding transactions and collaborate with owners on decisions regarding expense or capitalization of equipment purchases.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure monthly books are closed accurately.
- Support the payroll process by processing payroll, paying taxes, and filing payroll reports.
- Provide support to up to 60 client practices each month.
- Offer feedback and contribute to the development of our service offerings.
### Requirements
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
- Experience with QuickBooks Payroll, Gusto Payroll, ADP, and/or Paychex is preferred.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other functions, along with competency in other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management abilities, strong decision-making skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
