Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial systems for multiple entities, including setting up QuickBooks accounts for the primary business and two affiliated companies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) regulations and a passion for ensuring financial processes are handled with precision and care. This position is initially part-time, with the opportunity to transition to full-time based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Set up and manage QuickBooks Online accounts for multiple entities, including one primary business and two affiliates.
- Ensure compliance with DCAA guidelines across all accounting activities.
- Perform routine bookkeeping tasks such as recording transactions, reconciling bank accounts, and tracking expenses.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate, timely, and detailed financial reporting.
- Prepare financial statements, assist with audits, and maintain organized financial records.
- Suggest and implement improvements to streamline and enhance financial operations.

Qualifications:

- Proven bookkeeping experience, particularly with DCAA regulations and standards.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, with strong skills in account setup and ongoing management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication abilities and a proactive work ethic.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Availability to start part-time, with the potential for full-time hours as the role expands.
- Must be based in Houston, TX (remote work available).
