Job Summary:
The Department of Psychology in the College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences at Radford University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in School Psychology within our M.S./Ed.S. program starting in the Fall of 2025 . Area of specialization is open. Responsibilities of this position include : 1) teaching graduate courses in our NASP recognized school psychology program as well as serving as a mentor to graduate students in a program that is committed to training students in ecological-oriented, comprehensive service delivery; 2) supervising assessment and interventions services provided by our graduate students within our psychology training clinic; 3) engaging in a productive and independent line of research; and 4) participating in program, department, college, and university services activities. When applicable, duties may include teaching and mentoring undergraduate students within the psychology department.
Students in the 3-year school psychology program earn both an M.S. degree in Psychology and an Ed.S. degree in School Psychology. Our School Psychology program has been in existence since 1967, and became an Education Specialist program in 1978.The Psychology Department also offers a large bachelor's program; a master's with options in Experimental and Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Preferred qualifications include interest in teaching and expertise in systems level prevention and intervention, academic and behavior intervention, cognitive assessment, school and clinic based practicum, and research courses that may align with area of research expertise; currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a school psychologist through the Virginia Board of Psychology preferred; and preferred interest in collaboration with other faculty in the administrative oversight and training of students in our on-campus clinic, including community outreach and clinical research/grant opportunities.
