The Department of Psychology currently has 42 full-time faculty members and enrollment of more than 2,000 undergraduate and 80 graduate students. The Department presently offers Bachelor?s degrees in Psychology (BA and BS) and Organizational Leadership (BA); a terminal Master?s degree in Psychology with emphasis areas in Community and Organizational Psychology, and a PhD in Psychology, with emphasis areas in Clinical Psychology, Cognition, Action, and Perception (CAP), and Community and Organizational Research for Action (CORA).
The Department is accepting applications for a tenure-track assistant professor who will contribute to the department?s research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, and service missions. Salary and startup funding will be commensurate with the candidate?s qualifications. The position is intended to start in August 2025.
? Conduct research in areas that foster collaboration with faculty across our department, including but not limited to: our CORA faculty whose applied work focuses in the areas of organizational and community-based leadership, community-based participatory methods, vulnerable populations, and persistence in STEM education.
? Teach three courses per academic year across our undergraduate and graduate programs, such as but not limited to: I/O Psychology, Social Psychology and Personality, Training and Development, and Capstone: I/O Psychology.
? Assume duties associated with administration of our MA Psychology program, such as but not limited to: recruitment, student advising, and curriculum development.
? Participate in professional service activities, such as serving on departmental, college and university committees, such as but not limited to the undergraduate curriculum committee.
Prior to the effective date of appointment, all of the following are required:
? Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational (I/O) Psychology, Social Psychology, or a related field.
? One semester of teaching experience in I/O or Social Psychology or a related field, as the instructor of record, at the collegiate level.
? A t least one peer-reviewed journal publication, book chapter, conference proceeding, or presentation at a national conference
? Demonstrated potential for securing external funding as shown by at least one of the following: submitting an internal or external grant, receiving an internal or external grant, or serving as a project-team member on a faculty member?s grant-funded research.

As a UC employee, and an employee of an Ohio public institution, if hired you will not contribute to the federal Social Security system, other than contributions to Medicare. Instead, UC employees have the option to contribute to a state retirement plan (OPERS, STRS) or an alternative retirement plan (ARP).
