Duties and Responsibilities

Selected candidate will assist with the following technical tasks:

• Hydrologic analyses for land development, transportation, green infrastructure, and flood control projects
• Hydraulic analyses of storm drain conduit and open channel systems
• Floodplain hydraulic analyses and studies for natural channels and restoration and flood control projects
• Water quality calculations for the design of best management practices (BMPs)
• Flow mitigation/detention modeling
• Preparation of conceptual design plans
• Preparation of technical reports, such as drainage studies, stormwater quality management plans (SWQMPs), and feasibility studies

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following educational background and/or experience:

• Hydrologic analysis such as Rational Method calculations
• Hydraulic calculations and/or modeling, such as HEC-RAS
• Data analysis using Excel or other software
• Computer aided drafting and design (CADD) software (i.e., Autodesk and/or MicroStation)
• Spatial analysis (i.e., GIS), data analysis using statistical programs, and database management
• Technical writing/technical document preparation
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team with a focus on project success

Education and Licensure

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or closely related field. Completed coursework in the following areas is desired: hydrology and technical writing. Completed coursework in the following areas is a plus for consideration: hydraulics, water quality, GIS, AutoCAD (or MicroStation), and surveying. Four years of relevant work experience can be used to supplement the education requirement
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification (preferred)
