Amazon Robotics empowers a smarter, faster, more consistent customer experience through automation. Amazon Robotics automates fulfilment center operations using various methods of robotic technology including autonomous mobile robots, sophisticated control software, language perception, power management, computer vision, depth sensing, machine learning, object recognition, and semantic understanding of commands. Amazon Robotics has a dedicated focus on research and development to continuously explore new opportunities to extend its product lines into new areas.
We are seeking candidates with exceptional technical skills, a demonstrated capability to learn fast, and a strong interest in design for reliability and service. As part of this highly influential team, candidates have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with global teams within Amazon to contribute to the challenges and continuous innovation of the Amazon Robotic Systems.
This role is a 6 month co-op to join AR full time (40 hours/week) from January to June 2025. Amazon Robotics co-op opportunities will be based in the Greater Boston Area, in our two state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough and North Reading, MA. Both campuses provide a unique opportunity for interns to have direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities.
Co-op Responsibilities:
As a System Reliability Engineer Co-op, you will contribute to the development of robotic solutions optimized for availability, life cycle cost and performance.
• Support Design for Reliability, Maintainability and Supportability activities during new product development.
• Develop reliability models for complex electro-mechanical systems
• Support Failure Modes Effects Analyses for new products
• Assist in the development and execution of reliability test plans and data collection strategies
• Assess vendor reliability data
• Advocate for the customer during the design process on failure modes, fault diagnostics and impacts to product supportability
• Develop lifecycle support strategies and mechanisms for new products
• Ensure supportability requirements and concerns are addressed for field launch
• Work with customers to identify opportunities for improved maintenance strategies
• Assist with processes to expand diagnostic capabilities improve ergonomics, and reduce troubleshooting time
• Work with Learning team to develop and improve Amazon Robotics University technical manuals and training modules

System Reliability Engineering is a team of experts in diverse engineering disciplines joined by a passion to astonish customers through solving complex optimization problems. We succeed by embracing ambiguity, moving at a fast pace, and supporting each other's growth.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be currently enrolled in and pursuing a Bachelor's (or higher) in an engineering discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar
- Strong problem-solving and debugging experience related to hardware, software, subsystems, and firmware
- Proficiency with Minitab, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- Must have at least one semester/term/quarter of school left to complete after the end of the co-op
- Must be eligible and available for a full-time (40h / week) 6-month co-op between January - June 2025
- Graduation is December 2025 or later
