Who we are:
The Investment Office is responsible for implementing policies established by the University Board of Trustees and its Investment Committee. The Investment Office helps support the University's mission of being a top research university that provides accessibility to students. The Chief Investment Officer is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Investment Office and is supported by a dedicated team of investment professionals.
Cornell's Office of University Investment (OUI) manages the University's approximately $10 billion endowment, which supports the University's mission by seeking to generate superior risk-adjusted returns. OUI seeks to achieve this goal by pursuing a very broad set of investment opportunities. The global, multiple-asset class approach taken exploits a central insight of modern financial theory: namely, that portfolio risk can be minimized for any targeted rate of return through the inclusion of a broad selection of asset classes - since risky asset classes often behave differently as regional and global economic, financial, and political events unfold. OUI is located in mid-town New York City.
The Opportunity
As an integral part of a 20+ person investment professional office, the Administrative Assistant/Receptionist will provide full spectrum administrative support to the Investment Office professional team and serve as the initial point of contact in the Office of University Investments' (OUI) New York City office. This includes providing support for various staff members through careful execution of administrative duties and interacting with high-level University and external constituents in a professional manner.
We highly value the importance that culture plays in the success of an organization and each hire should positively add to our culture and commit to effectively work and interact respectfully to foster a diverse and inclusive environment.
